Carey McKinley - Work Samples Video

The first 2 clips are from "The Museum of Narrow Places" (Milwaukee version, co-created with Amii LeGendre, 2011), where we started in a gallery, and then invited our audience on a treasure hunt of sorts, where they could see site-specific solos.

The next couple clips are a piece I created with Alli Ross, "Necessary Neuroses", performed at a Fresh Killed Theater event in 2010, inspired by Oscar Levant.

Then you see a piece created with Daniel Burkholder, "The Incident". We worked with Isadora software. Inspired by Samuel Beckett, memory and the re-telling of stories (2010).

The solo piece is called "Mabel and Me" based on a woman grappling with faith, desire, and identity. Performed at Fresh Killed Theater in 2010.

Then there is a short clip from "Propeller" - a collaboration with batik artist, Mary Edna Fraser, based on her life, art and our shared commitment to environmental sustainability (2006).

The last clip is a brief glimpse at a sculpture created by Jude Heichelbech for a piece called "Material Concerns" performed in 2004.

The Museum of Narrow Places (Cambridge version)

This video is from an event in 2011, "The Museum of Narrow Places" (Cambridge version).  It was performed as part of a Harvard Graduate School of Design conference called "The Body in History, The Body in Space".

The piece explored themes of limitation: time, identity, expectations, inequality and the human condition.

Performing with Sun Ho Kim
